Launched in 1921 by Chanel and composed by Ernest Beaux, N°5 (Eau de Toilette) opens with aldehydes, bergamot, lemon and neroli, turns to grasse jasmine, iris, lily of the valley and may rose at the heart and dries down to vanilla, amber, sandalwood and vetiver. Its main accords are floral, powdery, woody, chypre and spicy.
