Launched in 1928 by Houbigant and composed by Paul Schving, Essence Rare opens with bergamot, iris and lily of the valley, turns to geranium and rose at the heart and dries down to civet, musk, oakmoss and Tonka bean. Its main accords are powdery, animal, floral, oriental and chypre.
